HONDA ACCORD SUPER TOURING CAR
1998
This car was raced by James Thompson in the 1998 British Touring Car Championship, taking four wins and securing third place in the championship for Thompson.
Prodrive started circuit racing in the British Touring Car Championship in 1987 with the BMW M3. Running this programme until the end of 1992. We worked with Alfa Romeo in 1995 and then in 1997 started a two year programme with Honda running the Accord Super Touring Car. The 1990s was the heyday of the British Touring Car Championship and was the premier series in the world, with many major manufacturers competing in what were known as super touring cars.
In 1997, the team competed with James Thompson and Gabriele Tarquini and in 1998 Peter Kox replaced Tarquini.
